It's a little ridiculous...
we were playing with pastels in Art today during the final, so I liked how this turned and brought it home and pimped it out in photoshop. Might use the girl as a character later on XD

I hate my computer. And the laptop officially refuses to obey me anymore. *sigh* I'll post more story related art later, but I don't really like giving Tl;dr explanations in my devs so whatever, I'll figure something.
I'm thinking that this girl is a "contract" (it's a term I use for "servants" in my current series.) There are defensive and offensive contracts (not sure about her yet). The contracts act as buffers between normal people and their masters, effectively being the "middle man", and she's trapped like this and has to serve her master (who is a major arcana). The problem with the contracts is that the servants themselves are madly in love/loyal to their masters, so fulfilling the contract would mean that they slowly lose the things that made them human until they become the perfect "contract".
I think she'll be Death's contract, because I don't have one for him yet =_=

I have pretty much all the Major Arcana settled, but I've been tweaking the idea of the minor arcana farther and farther away from what it really is. I decided that the Minor Arcana is simply the category that the Major Arcanas fall into, i.e. Cups, Coins, Wands, and Swords, no more than five Arcanas in each group. Swords and Wands are more battle friendly, while Cups and Coins fall more into information and non-battle fields. Not to say that a Coin isn't powerful, but it's more like, Wands & Swords = Offensive (physically and magically), and Cups & Coins = More Defense heavy. So far I have...
Cups = The Lovers, The Empress, The Emperor, The High Priestess, and The Hanged Man
Coins = The Magician, Temperance, Justice, The Hermit
Wands = The Wheel of Fortune, Death, The Devil, The Moon,
Swords = Strength, The Chariot, The Tower, The Sun, and The Star
These tiers are based more on the Arcanas themselves as individuals than what their cards represent, though that still plays a factor. The Fool is a wild card, and Judgment & the World are in their own separate tiers. Since the Fool is always changing, sometimes he's a sword, sometimes he's a coin XD
Hope that wasn't too Tl;dr for you. Talking about this series really helps hammer out details and make it better than when I'm randomly storming in my head about it =_=

Haha, it sounds totally cool, man. I really want to see how this idea pans out. I mean, yeah it's a huge world, but you can write it ,you're good at that kinda stuff. Me, I have to keep my worlds small or I start finding plot holes. Also, just a little side dealie, I like to design things somewhat close to the original design (the old Rider-Waight tarot cards and such), so my designs for say, Death or the Devil would be more like their actual card. But hey, cards have two sides anyway.

I just recently fixed the Devil's design to be more... demonic, haha. He's got this beauty mark and wavy hair thing going on, but prolly my favorite part of his design is that he has two curls of jet-black hair (his hair is just a bit lighter) that turn upwards to make horns when he's feeling just a tad demonic. It's just really a cute idea, I thought, haha.
I don't want the characters to have nothing to do with their cards. I just started really, REALLY making their designs work. Currently, I have Sun, Devil, Moon, and Temperance definitely mostly done, with Magician, Death, and Tower next. I'm tackling this little by little XD
